Successful foal auction during the German Amateur Championships

Sales quota of over 90 percent in Münster-Handorf

Münster: This year's Westphalian Foal Auction during the Laub Immobiliengruppe German Amateur Championships in Münster-Handorf was held as an OnLive Auction. 25 Westphalian foals presented themselves live on the grounds. Bidding was possible live on site as well as online. At an average price of 7,793 Euros 23 foals changed hands this evening.

For the third time, the Westphalian Stud Book held a foal auction during the Laub Immobiliengruppe German Amateur Championships. For the first time it was an OnLive auction. This meant that customers could place bids both live on site and online at home. Nine times the virtual hammer fell in favour of customers in front of the screens at home.

The fillies were particularly popular among the customers of the Westphalian Stud Book this evening. Among both the foals predispositioned for dressage and jumping, a filly achieved the highest price. The most coveted offer of the evening was Complete Lovely with the head number 3. The Cornet Obolensky daughter is bred by Editha Ludewig from Warendorf. The full brother of the grey filly also advanced to the top price at the Westphalian Foal Auction at Gut Ising in 2020. Her dam, London Night by Lasino, has been successfully shown in competitions. Numerous highly successful show jumpers originate from this dam line. Auctioneer Thomas Münch's hammer fell at 16,000 Euros. On the phone, customers from Ireland secured this promising future hope.

The most expensive foal with a dressage pedigree was number 1: Vergissmeinnicht by Vaderland/Ampere (breeder and exhibitor: Noortje Radstake, Netherlands) attracted the attention of customers on site and online. The chestnut filly from the dam line of the successful full brothers Welt Hit I to VI was finally knocked down for 14,500 Euros online.

With the 23 foals sold, the Westphalian Stud Book achieved a total turnover of 179,250 Euros this evening. More than 90 percent of the foals on offer changed hands at an average price of 7,793 Euros. Five of the foals sold will start their careers outside of Germany in a few years. With this foal auction, the 2022 foal season in Münster-Handorf has finally come to an end. 365 foals were sold in Westphalia this year at an average price of 10,618 Euros. Thus, the Westphalian Stud Book was able to maintain the figures from the previous year.
